The purpose and independence of the CCRS institute have been carried since its beginning in 2003 by the Stiftung Zentrum Nachhaltigkeit Zürich (literally "Foundation Centre for Sustainability in Zurich") and its Foundation Board.
Purpose of the Foundation
The purpose of the foundation is to deepen the sustainability issue in business, society and politics by systematically developing knowledge, to actively support it by developing practice-relevant know-how and to have a significant influence through targeted communication. By founding and developing the Zurich Sustainability Center, the foundation also wants to make a contribution to strengthening Switzerland as an innovative and future-oriented place of thought and business. The foundation is a non-profit organization and pursues neither profit nor self-help purposes.
